What We’re Loving: Aerin’s Spring Collection

What We’re Loving: Aerin’s Spring Collection

Golden — that’s what Aerin Lauder’s new spring collection for her home line, Aerin, is… literally. From the gold-flecked crystal bowls in various sizes to the candlesticks, the carafes, the wine stoppers, and everything in between, each piece is covered in shades of the metallic hue.

Aerin’s products ooze a high-quality, luxurious sophistication that can turn any new home into something photo-shoot-worthy, a talent she surely acquired from her beloved beauty maven grandmother Estee Lauder. Launching last fall, the Aerin line has impressed designers and customers alike with its relaxed and posh vibe.

The inspiration for this season’s collection comes from the great outdoors. Natural elements like agate coasters and bamboo stoppers blend with other pieces that are made up of a mix of animal accents, shark skin, and gold runs throughout the entire collection. With a palette that consists of cool greens, greys, and a hint of cream, it looks like it’s going to be an easy, breezy spring at Aerin.

Add to Cart: 13 Vibrant Activewear Styles We’re Loving for Spring

What we're wearing to work out, get coffee, and just chill.

While shopping for activewear has gotten more fun with every new brand that chooses to join the game, it can be easy to accidentally end up with an all-black rotation of leggings, sports bras, and tanks. After carrying us through the past year of Zoom yoga, mental-health walks, and couch lies when we promised we would get up to exercise at the next commercial break, the all-black legging, sports bra, and tank combo is a safe space at this point. Now imagine this: swapping out your all-black kit for something a little more seasonal, like a pale pink co-ord set from Solid & Striped Sport. You can keep your tried-and-true all-black set, but even she needs a day off every once in a while, and spring is the perfect excuse to hit the refresh button and start cycling in some color. Nothing says spring quite like an outdoor run in your favorite swimwear-turned-activewear brand, and introducing a pop of color to your activewear rotation can be the perfect motivator to get those endorphins flowing. When looking to add some color to the mix and freshen up our activewear repertoire, we turned to Bandier for their collection of the latest in the fashion-meets-function space, and as always, they did not fail to have us adding everything to our cart.

Wayfair Reveals the Color Trends for Spring 2021, and We're Totally Obsessed

Bold colors are having a moment under the bright yellow sun right about now. Wayfair&aposs spring renovation trends for 2021 has named "bold and bright" colors as one of the hottest crazes of the moment — and we&aposre totally on board.

The eye-catching displays of color are making waves all over the home, from the kitchen to home offices, and in light of an incredibly dreary and dark year amid the ongoing coronavirus pandemic, we hope this interior decorating trend gives people a little daily dose of positivity throughout their living spaces.

"White or neutral kitchens and bathrooms have been the trend for years, and it&aposs become the standard for builders and designers, too. From a design perspective, neutrals create a calming space but can feel lackluster without other visual interest, textures, patterns, or some color," Lindsey Zborowski, Design Manager for Wayfair Professional, shared with Southern Living.

"What we&aposre seeing this spring is the reemergence of bold color in thoughtful and specific ways. Having largely spent the last year in our homes, bringing in some happier hues and color pop moments can make a space brighter and add visual interest without overwhelming the room," she continued.

For bigger pops of color, Zborowski recommends navy or sage kitchen cabinets and pairing that with a light or neutral countertop and a tight-patterned backsplash. "In the bathroom, consider painting a bright wall color (a sunny yellow or a deep emerald) or using a periwinkle penny tile in the shower, paired with matte-finished vanity and light marble floor tile," she further suggested.

"Other ways to introduce color is through major appliances, which with brands like SMEG it&aposs easy to find form and function with on-trend finishes," she said, noting that she&aposs a huge fan of this olive green range, which can be paired with matte black or grey cabinetry and neutral floor tiles and countertops to create a beautiful, balanced look in the kitchen. And don&apost forget the option to use bold kitchen paint colors to add visual intrigue and a sense of cheeriness to your space, too.

"Another way to balance out a bold appliance, backsplash or kitchen cabinetry is to run hardwood flooring into the kitchen as well," she suggested. "The texture of the wood grain still adds interest and a warm tonality, and it can make a space look larger if you keep the flooring consistent from an adjacent living room space and run it through the kitchen, too." Ready to spruce up your space? You can browse Wayfair&aposs "bright and bold" collection here.

Well, we&aposve definitely got more than our fair share of colorful renovation ideas. You don&apost have to tell us twice to get shopping.

Here’s How Much Water You Should Be Drinking To Improve Your Health--And How To Make It Fun

We all know that it’s important to stay hydrated… and the vast majority of us also know how hard it is to get in enough water every day. Believe it or not, 75% of Americans are dehydrated. That means chances are pretty good that we’re talking about you here. Literally every cell and every tissue in your body depends on water for optimal functioning, so when you’re not getting enough, your entire system is impacted. Your appetite, energy, thinking, and skin are all noticeably improved when you’re properly hydrated, which means drinking about a gallon of water a day.

If you’ve been struggling to get in the requisite amount of hydration every day, the HydroJug and Sleeves are going to be your new BFFs. Plus, with the code shefinds, you can get 10% off your purchase. The HydroJug holds half a gallon of water, so it’s easy to tell whether you’re drinking enough – down two a day, and you’re doing great! The leak-proof seal and integrated handle make it easy to throw in your bag or carry anywhere without the fear of spills, and the shatter-proof material means you don’t have to worry about dropping it. The wide-mouth opening makes it easy to add ice, fruit, supplements, and anything else you want to your water. We also love that the HydroJug is safe to put in the dishwasher, making it easy to clean and reuse – just think of all the plastic water bottles you’ll no longer be using!

The HydroJug comes in tons of different colors, and the customization doesn’t stop there. Grab a sleeve with your fave print to protect your jug and keep whatever’s inside it insulated. The sleeve has a pocket for your phone and another for your keys or airpods, as well as an adjustable strap that makes carrying the jug easy. With all the different jug and sleeve colors and prints, there’s definitely an option that you’ll love.

Preparation

  • Bring a large pot of well-salted water to a boil. With a pizza cutter or chef’s knife, cut the pasta sheets into rustic strips about 1/2 inch wide.
  • In a 10- to 11-inch straight-sided sauté pan, bring 2-1/2 cups water, the garlic, 1 tsp. salt, and 1/4 tsp. pepper to a simmer over high heat. Add the mixed vegetables and simmer briskly, adjusting the heat as necessary, until just crisp-tender, 3 to 4 minutes. With a slotted spoon, transfer to a large plate. If using peas, simmer them until barely tender, about 2 minutes, and transfer to the plate with the slotted spoon. (If using favas, skip this step.) Raise the heat to high and boil the liquid until reduced to 1 cup, 3 to 4 minutes.
  • Meanwhile, cook the pasta in the boiling water until barely al dente, 2 to 4 minutes. Drain.
  • Add the cooked pasta, vegetables, favas (if using), pea shoots or watercress, herbs, butter, and lemon zest to the broth. Toss over medium-high heat until the butter is melted, about 1 minute.
  • Season to taste with salt and pepper. Serve garnished with pea shoots or watercress, fresh herbs, and Parmigiano (if using).

To peel fava beans, shuck them and cook them in boiling salted water until tender, 1 to 2 minutes, then rinse them with cold water and peel off the skin.

Giada De Laurentiis’ Ricotta Bruschetta Gets a Sweet & Spicy Kick From This Special Ingredient

Now that spring has officially begun we’re excitedly shifting our regular meal rotation to lighter and brighter meals &mdash and we’re already in love with the latest easy appetizer recipe (or, heck, light meal, because we could eat nothing but this and be happy) from Giada De Laurentiis. The Italian chef shared a photo of her Ricotta Bruschetta with Sweet and Spicy Tomatoes on Instagram and it’s sure to win a spot in our regular rotation.

“Whipped ricotta. Caramelized cherry tomatoes. Sweet-and-spicy Calabrian chili honey. Fresh basil. I honestly don’t think we need to say more. 🙌 ” wrote De Laurentiis’ @thegiadzy account.

Bruschetta is one of our favorite quick bite meals that’s super-easy to whip up. De Laurentiis’ version calls for whipped ricotta, roasted cherry tomatoes, and sweet-and-spicy Calabrian chili honey &mdash which makes for a wild ride for your tastebuds. But it’s that special ingredient &mdash the spicy Calabrian chili honey &mdash that really makes this recipe special. De Laurentiis loves quality Italian pantry ingredients, and the Calabrian chili paste you’ll need for this recipe is available on her Giadzy store &mdash but you can also get it on Amazon.

You can also make the components &mdash whipping the ricotta, roasting the cherry tomatoes, and making the spicy honey &mdash all in advance, so if you’re serving this as a holiday appetizer or for some socially distanced entertaining, it’ll mean less time in the kitchen and more time to enjoy yourself with your loved ones. Sounds delicious!
