Layered chicken salad

Today's recipe is part of this category, of the remaining recipes to be published in that series. I was tempted, to be honest, to publish it at the end of the year, when I know it's her time, I just thought it didn't make sense to keep it in the drawer until then as long as there are still pomegranates in the store.

So today I will show you how to make a salad "pomegranate bracelet, a recipe that comes from Russian cuisine and falls into the category of layered salads, as it is Mimoza salad (see recipe HERE) or Shuba salad (see the recipe HERE).

I've seen several ways to put the ingredients in layers and I don't think it's a specific order. Only at the top, ie the last layer of pomegranate seeds can not be changed. It is, in fact, the last part of the salad garnish and is somehow the main ingredient. Without him, it wouldn't be called a salad, obviously.

I also saw several ways to decorate this salad. On some were placed pomegranate seeds from place to place or often, as I placed them. The choice is yours, but my suggestion is to put them as often as possible because basically the taste of pomegranate combined with that of the rest of the ingredients is special. Without pomegranate, the salad remains commonplace.


Sunflower salad with chicken breast and mushrooms

One of the salads I had on the New Year's menu was this one Sunflower salad. It is a simple, quick and very easy salad to make. At the same time it is very effective. It is placed on a plate in layers and decorated as if it were a sunflower, reached maturity.

I really liked this idea that I found on Russian culinary sites and Youtube channels. It may not be the same original recipe, but as far as I understand, that's how it's done. The quantities are relative and you can use the "eye" weighing method.

Basically you need half a chicken breast to boil beforehand. In some recipes I saw that the chicken breast was fried. So is the onion. And I think it turns out tastier, except that I didn't want a recipe with something fried in it. Enough of having mayonnaise. If you don't mind, you can try this option as well.

Then you also need a can of mushrooms, some cheese, eggs and, of course, mayonnaise plus spices. You really can't do without them because they wouldn't taste good. Obviously we will also need to make the petals out of something. For this we will use purchased potato chips. Find it at any supermarket.

We prepare all the ingredients and then place them, one by one, in layers, in a deep plate. First we put the chicken breast, a little mayonnaise, the onion, the mushrooms, the grated egg whites, the grated cheese, we cover with mayonnaise and then we put the olives on top. That in short. Salad with nuts, pineapple and chicken

Next, you will learn more about the salad, which has an exotic flavor. If you have not eaten a meal, then you need to cook it and enjoy it. What is certain is that this salad was a noble title and it is not like that! The taste of this dish will impress you from the first spoon, the salad turns out very tasty, consistent and flavorful. By the way with products that are part of it, you can play a little, which is, instead of mushrooms, if not welcome, you can also add boiled chicken or smoked breast, and the taste of salad from -one time it will be different. As for the preparation of this dish can take mushrooms, only canned, but with a salad of fresh mushrooms will turn fragrant and tastier. To make this salad you will need:

First of all you have to cook the meat. Put a bowl of water on the fire, wash the fillets and send it to boiling water. If the product is ready, let it cool and then cut the meat into large pieces.

Then you need to wash the mushrooms, cut into large pieces, put the tray on the fire, pour a little oil in the pan and send the chopped mushrooms. When they are golden, put them in a strainer to bottle the excess oil.

Now open pineapple, drain the juice and cut into medium cubes, around a circle is divided into ten blocks. Next, peel the walnuts and chop.

Now we come to the most critical moment, take a bowl, put in it all the prepared ingredients, add salt and pepper and pour the mayonnaise, all the products mix well, put parsley sprigs, pre-washed of course, and maybe also , to use whole olive decor, if desired.

Chicken salad and yogurt dressing

I owe you summer recipes, I know, but I'm in Bucharest and it's a little harder to share so that I can get to the kitchen. But I also know that in the heat outside you feel like terraces, beer and in no case cooking, so today we make a simple salad recipe, all its charm being given by the dressing based on yogurt, honey and mustard, which is a very aromatic dressing, with a creamy consistency, exactly the opposite of the normal vinaigrette.

Despite the fact that it is creamy, it is light and can become even lighter if we use a weak, skimmed yogurt or even creamier if we use a fatty yogurt, such as the Greek one. It all depends on your tastes!

Ingredients for 4 servings:
& # 8211 1 large chicken breast
& # 8211 2 tablespoons olive oil
& # 8211 salt, pepper, spices for chicken
& # 8211 ½ capatana salata
& # 8211 4 tomatoes
& # 8211 4 cucumbers
& # 8211 a green onion tie
& # 8211 1 cup croutons
& # 8211 300 ml yogurt
& # 8211 2 tablespoons honey
& # 8211 2 teaspoons Dijon mustard
& # 8211 2 teaspoons vinegar
& # 8211 salt, pepper, freshly ground nutmeg
& # 8211 ½ canada emmentaler razuit

We start with the chicken breast, which we wash well, clean it of skins and fat and cut it into small cubes. We put it in a bowl, sprinkle it with olive oil, season it with salt, pepper, spices for chicken, mix well.

Fry the chicken until nicely browned, without adding oil. We then take it out on a piece of paper, to absorb the excess oil.

We wash the vegetables very well, and when I say very well, it is really important to do that, because you know for sure about the epidemic caused by E.coli, so it is good to be very careful and to wash the vegetables 3 times before eat them, and for the ones we can peel, let's do it. Once the vegetables are washed and cleaned, cut the salad into strips, cut the cucumbers into thin slices, the tomatoes into cubes, cut the green onion into thin slices and place them all in layers in a large salad bowl. Put the croutons and chicken on top.

For the dressing, mix the yogurt, mustard, honey, vinegar and season with salt, pepper and nutmeg to taste. Put the dressing over the salad and sprinkle with grated cheese.

This is our salad, the dressing is done quickly and gives all the charm. You can use any kind of vegetables, you can not put chicken meat or replace it with another type of meat, feta cheese or telemea, there are countless options. You're welcome!


  • Salad dressing can be prepared with lemon juice instead of vinegar.
  • For extra flavor you can add fresh basil or parsley.
