4 Fourth of July Wine Picks

4 Fourth of July Wine Picks

The Fourth of July is less than a week away! The quintessential American summer holiday is important for many reasons, but it is also a day we love to spend outside, in good company, eating good food, and of course enjoying a glass of something delicious.

Four Great Wines for the Fourth

1. Domaine Chandon Napa Valley Brut American Summer NV — A patriotic sparkling wine from Napa Valley's famous Domaine Chandon will light up any Fourth celebration.

2. Chateau Miraval Cotes de Provence Rosé 'Pitt & Jolie' 2012 One of the most anticipated roses of the year, the 'Pitt&Jolie' rosé will be the perfect glass on its own or pairing with BBQ.

3. Neudorf Vineyards Sauvignon Blanc 2012 — Hot summer days and crisp sauvignon blanc are an unbeatable pairing!

4. Sterling Cabernet Sauvignon 2010 — Celebrate the fourth with a historic wine from the region that put American wine on the map — the Napa Valley!

#3 Cream Cheese Filled Strawberries

Do this one yourself! This is too hard for kids to put together, but will be a hit with both kids and adults!

Another version is this…..

25 jumbo strawberries

3/4 c heavy whipping cream

1 small box vanilla instant pudding

1/2 tsp almond extract

Mix together

Put mixture into a plastic bag. Cut corner of bag and pipe into the strawberries.

Top with a blueberry

3. Fourth of July Party Sparklers

If you happen to live somewhere where Class C fireworks (small-sized fireworks, like sparklers) are sold and legalized, you should totally get some sparklers! Once the sun goes down and the nation’s cities erupt in choruses of loud, booming fireworks, it’s time to pull out your own! Sparklers are fairly safe, as they are long, thin sticks that have a decent-sized gripping section that does not include the material that lights up when lit.

Stick a bunch of sparklers in the ground and light them for a pretty light show, or simply hold them and listen as the little pops and booms echo from the bright sparkles that are flying off of the sparkler. No matter what you do with sparklers, just remember to always remain cautious and alert while using them, and do NOT allow children to use them, especially when unsupervised. Have fun and stay safe!
